Farr Ligvani is a vanguard abstract artist in Los Angeles, CA who has spent his life exploring and expressing the world through art.
Born in Tehran, Iran, he started painting as a young boy. Ligvani was soon recognized for his work, winning first prize in numerous local and national competitions by the time he had completed his primary education. In 1976 he moved to Los Angeles, where he has worked as an architect, industrial designer and fine artist.
For the last twenty years Ligvani has been working on a 3-part conceptual series that seeks to describe the common principle to the structure of all creation. The series, called "Obstacleism"-Thesis, Antithesis, Synthesis-represents the way in which obstacles are the benevolent impediments without which life would not exist.
He debuted the complete series for the first time on June 8, 2012, followed by a series of showings at galleries around the West Coast and nationwide.
